I've been through three of these heaters so far. With the money I've spent, I probably should have bought something else.
1. The so called non corrosion titanium rod corrodes.
2. After about three months of steady use the heater shorts out.
It's difficult to say where the failure occurs. However, in my case it has been either the rod itself or a poor seal at the point of connection to the rod. This last one I recently bought came with a slightly shorter power supply cord which made placement less effective in my case maintaining a constant temperature of 78° in a 1000 gallon tank.
3. This time there's some kind of glitch in the schedule as well. The unit turns off at the appreciate time, but for some reason the scheduled turn on time keeps turning off in the settings.
The features are great. The durability sucks.
