Timer function time on/time off does not work.

Purchased this item as a replacement to our Malibu transformer. Easy to hook up but having to remove 4 small screws to access the low voltage hookup makes it hard to simply hook up the cable wires, especially if your hands are bigger. Easily lost as well. Once hooked up and the cover screwed back on and plugged in the use of two multi function buttons that are different when pressed for a short period or for a long press just to set the timer function to turn on and to turn off was maddening. I repeatly was able to set the "open" time but was not able to set the "closed time". First, why not use the word "on" and "off". The mode button worked well enough as you could see the display cycle between the modes (daylight sensor, timer, on but only for a certain number of hours after the sensor turns it on, and the astronomical timer. May be worth while to include where someone could find their longitude and latitude numbers but for the life of me I cannot see how this would be any different from using the light sensor feature. It would help a lot if you could send more detailed instructions, as the one that came with it literally cuts off the part of the timer instruction after the "open" part of the instruction. It would also help if you explained if "open" meant open circuit, meaning the lights are off, or if "open" is meant to relate to the time the lights are on. If "open" means lights off, then the instructions are missing how to set the time for the "closed" position. Either way the instructions are missing one half of the timer portion of the instructions. Finally, given the difficulty of setting it up you would think it would have a setting for daylight savings time, which it does not. Please send me the instructions of how to set the on time and off time on this devise. If you can do that and it works I will update my rating. Thank you.
